Daily STREAM Activity: Bark Rubbing
Create art with the help of a tree!
Activity best for children age 3 and up
Explore trees outside and create bark rubbings! This can be done outdoors using household materials.
Materials you’ll need:
Paper
Crayons
Trees
Directions
STEP 1
Head outside and find a tree with interesting bark.
STEP 2
Tape a piece of paper to the tree. Your paper can be a large roll or a single sheet.
STEP 3
Use crayons and color your paper over the bark. Use whatever colors you would like!
STEP 4
Take your paper off the tree. How does it look?
BONUS 1
Try to make bark rubbings on trees with different bark textures.
BONUS 2
Label your bark rubbings with the names of the trees.
