Fun Animal Friday Pig Craft
Go ham for this craft!
Activity best for children age 2 and up
During Fun Animal Friday today, we visited Escondido High School to meet some of the animals in their FFA program. FFA stands for “Future Farmers of America,” and it is a program where students learn about agriculture and raise a farm animal. There are lots of different animals found on a farm, but today we learned about pigs. Pigs have a great sense of smell and use their flat, round snouts to find food. For the craft today we are going to create a pig with a three-dimensional nose!
Materials you’ll need:
Paper plate
Paint and paintbrush
Paper scraps
Something to draw with
Glue stick or tape
Scissors
Directions
STEP 1
Use markers or paint to color a small paper plate. This will be your pig’s head.
STEP 2
Draw ears, eyes, and a nose on some paper scraps.
STEP 3
Cut out your shapes and glue them onto your paper plate. If you need help using scissors, you can always ask an adult.
Optional: Use a folded strip of paper behind your pig’s snout to make it 3D.
