KPBS Kids: Dino Train Craft
Create a roaring dinosaur and habitat!
Activity best for children age 2 and up
During the story, Buddy’s Playdate by Craig Bartlett, we learned that different types of dinosaurs used their senses in individual ways! Create your own unique dinosaur, habitat, and home that is just right for them with this craft.
Materials you’ll need:
Paper plates
Paint
Sponge to paint with
Scissors
Glue stick or tape
Colored paper
Directions
STEP 1
Think about the dinosaur you would like to make and what kind of habitat it lives in. Ask a grown-up to help you cut out the shape of that dinosaur.
STEP 2
Take a paper plate and cut it in half. One half will be the body of your dinosaur. Put some paint on another plate and use the sponge to paint your dinosaur body.
STEP 3
While the paint is drying, work on your habitat for your dinosaur. You can add trees, grass, and even volcanoes!
STEP 3
When the paint is dry, put your dinosaur cutout together with the painted body. Then add the whole dinosaur to the habitat you made. Have fun with your dinosaur!
