Being outside and getting to explore nature can be a lot of fun. We can explore nature or our surroundings in many ways; we can go for walks, play outside or even have… a scavenger hunt! Scavenger hunts are activities where we actively look for specific items or things, whether we collect them or just look at them! Step 5

Start your scavenger hunt! Don’t forget to take a pencil or writing material with you to put a check mark on items you’ve already found!

Remember, it’s okay if you can’t find everything on your list! If you aren’t able to, it means you are learning more about your environment and what you can and cannot find in your surroundings. And that’s okay!

Real-World Connections

Scavenger hunts are fun for finding things, like a game, but it also teaches us to be observant! Being able to use all our five senses to find, observe and study things is an important skill that we can carry into our every day lives. Like picking out a good piece of fruit or trying to spot something you need at home amongst all your other home items and toys. Being patient and observant is definitely extremely helpful!
