STREAM Activity: Create Your Own Tambourine

Time to shake things up!

Activity best for children ages 2 and up

This craft is for all of our budding musicians out there, or anyone who just likes to make a little bit of noise! Today we will be making our very own tambourines.

Materials:

Paper plate

Markers

Pipe cleaners

Jingle bells

Guiding Questions:

What is your favorite music to listen to?

What are ways we can make music together?

Step 1

Start by gathering your materials!

Step 2

Flip your plate over to the back. Using your markers, color the plate. Color circles in rainbow order to get a rainbow effect on your tambourine!

Step 3

Fold your plate in half and punch about 6 holes around the outside edge.

Step 4

Thread the pipe cleaners through the holes in the plate. Use the pipe cleaners to tie the jingle bells onto your tambourine.

Step 5

Shake your tambourine and make some music!
