STEP 1
Fold your paper in half, four times. You will end up with sixteen rectangles when unfolded. Lay out your paper in a portrait orientation for this guided drawing.

STEP 2
In the middle of your paper, draw your dog’s nose as a rectangle with rounded sides. Add 2 slits for nostrils.

STEP 3
Under the rectangle, draw a curved line from the middle of the paper up past the first box above your nose. There needs to be a little space below the nose and before you get to the middle of the paper above the nose.

STEP 4
Now do the same curve on the other side of the nose. It will look a lot like a vase for flowers. You will want to draw a lip under the nose that curves up to the nose and down to the lip like a hill.

STEP 5
Draw a large rounded rectangle around the muzzle as high as the top of the nose.

STEP 6
Draw two circles on either side of your dog’s muzzle on either side of where the vase is skinniest. Make sure to draw little circles inside the eye for the black pupils.

STEP 7
Draw the body. The neck begins right at the bottom of the nostrils. It will curve down to almost the bottom of the paper then up to the middle of the paper.

STEP 8
Draw the other leg. It will look like letter “M” as you draw from one side to the other below his chest. 

STEP 9
Draw the back legs. On the left side of the dog, start at the neck and draw down the back and make a long letter “L” out to the tip of his paw. The left paw just peeks out from behind the left front leg.

STEP 10
Draw the ears. “Blue Dog”’ has two ears that are big triangles. They start under the eye and go up right in the middle of the eyebrows. There is another triangle inside of each ear.

STEP 11
Outline the eyes and nose with black marker and then color in the pupils and nose with black. Outline everything  else in your drawing with blue marker.

STEP 12
Add details to the background of your “Blue Dog.”
