Fun Animal Friday Sloth Craft
Create your own sloth inspired by Paco!
Activity best for children age 2 and up
Today we met Paco the sloth with Pacific Animal Productions as part of our Fun Animal Friday event. The sloth is a slow moving animal that lives in Central and South America. Sloths are tree-dwelling creatures, which means they spend most of their time in trees. For this activity, you will use your handprint to create your own sloth masterpiece.
Materials you’ll need:
Paper
Markers, crayons, or colored pencils
Paint
Your hand
Directions
STEP 1
Draw a branch across the top of your paper.
STEP 2
Dip your hand in paint and place it down onto your paper so that your fingers are on the branch and your thumb is off to the side. If you do not want to use paint you can trace your hand on paper and cut it out, then glue this onto your branch.
STEP 3
Let the paint dry.
STEP 4
Draw your sloth’s head at the end of your thumbprint and add any final details to your picture.
