Learn how to make a California Roll with Chef Anthony from MIKKO Sushi, Escondido in celebration of our Virtual Roots Japan Event! The California Roll was first invented in 1970 by Japanese-born chef Hidekazu Tojo in a Los Angeles restaurant. The roll earned its name due to its popularity among the residents. Today, you’ll get to make this famous roll at home!

Materials you’ll need:
Cutting board
Knife
Bamboo mat wrapped in plastic wrap (maki-su)
Container with water
Butter knife
Peeler
Damp towel
Seaweed (Nori)
Rice (can mix with rice vinegar)
Imitation crab meat mixed with real mayonnaise
Avocado
Cucumber
