STREAM Activity: Frozen Bubbles

Activity best for children age 2 and up
Happy National Bubble Bath Day! Relaxing or fun, bubble baths are great for you, especially to warm up in the winter. This activity shows a new way to play with bubbles. Bubbles are just pockets of air trapped in a film of soap. Sometimes bubbles with stack up against each other and have a flat surface between them and if a smaller bubble meets a larger one, it will bulge into the larger bubble. Materials you’ll need:
2 TBSP dish soap
1 TBSP granulated sugar
1 cup warm water
A freezer

What are bubbles?
How do they freeze?
Directions
Step 1
Mix together the water, sugar, and soap.
Step 2
Pour the mix onto a plate and create some bubbles. You can do this with a whisk or a straw.
Step 3
Gently place the bubbles into a freeze for about 30 minutes.
Step 4
Have fun with your frozen bubbles!
